VOID FILLING

Our unique process for void-filling employs an array of special high density expanding polymer resins which are typically injected through small 5/8″ diameter holes drilled through a concrete slab; into voided soils conditions such as blast rock; into annular spaces; or any other spaces or voided areas requiring void-filling. As the resin mixture expands, voids are filled and a controlled mold pressure is exerted on a limited ( 8′ — 10′ diameter) area. The aggressive nature of our resins not only effectively fill voids but also effectively seals and helps in the prevention of water infiltration.

Our hydro-insensitive polymer resins work equally effectively in filling voids in wet substrates. The composite material quickly cures to a strong, stable and long-lasting replacement base material. Once our crew has completed their work and left the work area, the treated area is immediately ready for normal traffic use.

In treating any large void condition (depths exceeding one foot) care has to be taken in addressing the void with expanding polymer resins given the exothermic characteristic of the expanding resins. Application of too much expanding resin could result in charring and even self-combustion. POLY-MOR Canada Inc. has an expanding resin system that is specially formulated to prevent heat build-up and the possibility of starting a fire. This affords POLY-MOR Canada Inc. the advantage of filling large voids on a continuous basis thus greatly decreasing the time required to fill the voids. We also are aware of the relatively low melting points of plastics such as polystyrene, polypropylene, etc. Any void-filling where products such as these are present, care must be taken to ensure that the exothermic heat produced in the formation of our expanding resins do not melt or otherwise damage these components.

Applications

This technology is applicable in the industrial, commercial, residential, public works and institutional markets where the filling of voids in virtually any location can be undertaken.

Public Works

  • Voids under concrete pavements
  • Washed out bridge approach slabs
  • Sink holes
  • Behind replaced bin wall panel
  • Culverts and pipes to be abandoned
  • Catch basins and manholes
  • Abandoned culverts, ducts and pipes
  • Annular spaces — Tunnels
  • Parkade floors
  • Trench fill

Industrial / Commercial

  • Rocking concrete floor panels
  • Filling voids in blast rock
  • Abandoned mine shafts
  • Abandoned culverts, ducts & pipes
  • Annular space filling —tunnels
  • Trench filling
  • Wash-outs

 Residential

  • Walks adjacent to house foundation
  • Driveways
  • Under steps — “critter control”
  • Under patios
  • Wash out under basement slabs
  • Pool apron & decks

With the POLY-MOR Technology, it is possible to correct all manner of void-filling problems relating to floors, foundations, roads, bridge abutments, walks, driveways, etc. No matter what the void-fill issue is!
